Welcome visitor, my name is Thomas Groenendijk. I am a self-taught programmer and this is my website, please have a look around.

Ever since I was a kid, I have been interested in building and creating things. When I was young, I used Legos and Sand, now I use computers. The tools and materials may have changed, but not my interest in building things. On the computer, I used to spent my time creating 3d sketches using SketchUp, editing images using Photoshop and tinkering with programs and games.

Around December 2018, I pulled the trigger and decided to focus on programming in my free time. My first language was Java, which was an absolute blast to learn. For the first time I really felt my creativity had no bounds. After Java came Web development including languages like: Javascript, HTML and CSS. Recently, I have added Python to my programming toolbelt.

My goal is to build amazing software solutions for people and expand my programming knowledge.

Cook Buddy is a cooking aid. Whether you are from Europe using American recipes, or vice-versa, Cook Buddy is here to make your life easy. Cook Buddy is created with PHP and MySQL.

Cultivate is a plant logging utility. It helps you document and keep track of your plants at home. Cultivate is created with PHP and MySQL.

Wayfarer is a turn-based boardgame. You and your opponent pick units, equip items and battle it out on a tile-based board. You take turns moving, attacking and casting spells. Wayfarer is completely built using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

This app only supports larger tablets, laptops and desktops.

Guardian is a Java password manager using AWT/Swing as gui framework. The program allows a user to log in using a master password and username. The user can then browse all saved passwords. These passwords are encrypted and sit locally on the harddrive. The app has several handy features like automatically clearing the clipboard. The art was made using Photoshop.

I have written a program using locally hosted HTML, CSS and Javascript to help me with my day to day work at my current job. The program is part calculator, part handbook and part notepad. The program can calculate the expected production and required materials over the next few hours, so preparations can be made accordingly and it can calculate optimal machine settings, reducing the chance for mistakes.
